Last year, the Indian Railway administration had issued new guidelines for travel on 15 special trains, asking passengers to carry their own food and linen and arrive at stations at least 90 minutes before departure for health screening. Besides, it was also mentioned that all passengers must wear face masks during the journey.

However, the restrictions were eased after a downward trend was witnessed in the last few months and hence, the citizens stopped following the COVID-protocols in public places.

Recently, in an inspection of Mumbai Central-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, it was observed that the passengers in reserved coaches were found without face masks. Besides, the passengers were seen flouting social distancing norms as well.

A team of railway officials had deployed personnel to investigate the matter and take action against passengers violating the rules. But it comes across that the officials were also neglecting the protocols.

Against the backdrop of the coronavirus, the railway department has not yet started passenger trains in full swing. Only special trains are running from Mumbai.

Trains departing from Mumbai Central are:

  • Saurashtra Mail
  • Golden Temple Amritsar
  • Avantika Indore Express
  • Jaipur Superfast Express
  • Valsad Local Express
  • Flying Queen Superfast Express
  • August Revolution Nizamuddin
  • Karnavati Express
  • Doubledecker Express
  • Tejas (Ahmedabad) Express
  • Shatabdi Express
  • Duronto Express
  • New Delhi Rajdhani Express
