Ola and Uber strike reaches Day Four

Currently, 95 per cent of the cabs are unavailable and the available cabs have been charging double or triple the normal fare which has adversely affected the travellers.

Recently, the drivers of cab aggregators, Ola and Uber declared a strike. Due to which, commuters in cities like Delhi and Mumbai have been adversely affected. As their strike reaches the fourth day on October 25, the citizens have now started turning towards alternatives to Ola and Uber.

The strike was launched on October 22 in Delhi and Mumbai where the national capital has been less affected than the financial capital.

The drivers’ demands consist of a better share of income along with incentives from the cab companies, Ola and Uber. They have also claimed a need for safety measures from lawless commuters. Meanwhile, the commuters have been hassled.

The local commuters, office goers, people at the airport are hit the hardest as 95 per cent of the cabs are unavailable and the available cabs have been charging double or triple of the normal fare. Additionally, the waiting time for the cab has also increased to 23-25 minutes.    

Accordingly, the passengers have now turned to other modes of transport such as Kaali Peeli taxis, autos and Cool Cabs.
