Sinhagad, Pragati Express to remain suspended for eight days

The update comes as a bad news for the commuters who travel between Mumbai and Pune since the train service has been suspended for eight days between the two cities

In what can be called bad news for passengers travelling between Mumbai and Pune, the rail service between the two cities will be suspended July 26 to August 9 for repair work. The rail corporation stated that the Sinhagad and Pragati Express will not run for eight days for maintenance work.

Last month, there were several instances of rockfall between Lonavala and Karjat station. Therefore, the rail corporation has decided to keep a block to conduct maintenance work between Lonavala and Karjat.

However, the Koyna Express, Sahyadri Express, and Mahalaxmi Express, which depart from Mumbai will depart from Pune for the eight days of the block. Accordingly, Railways has asked the passengers to divert their journey to other routes.

  • Pune - Bhusaval train will be diverted through Manmad
  • Mumbai - Pune Sahyadri express will be cancelled
  • The Pune-Panvel-Pune shuttle service also cancelled
  • The Nanded-Panvel trains to run till Pune
