CR is further planning to build an elevated ticket counter on the skywalk which will further enable commuters from Dadar end to get their tickets fast. The construction of the skywalk will be completed by 2020. CR has further stated that the construction of the skywalk is a part of a larger plan to create two additional railway lines between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Parel railway station to separate the local and outstation traffic which, in turn, will reduce overcrowding on the stations.

Notably, In order to divert the crowd at Dadar and Kurla Terminus, the construction of Parel Terminus will start soon. It will include local as well as express trains. The construction has been started in the 14 hectares Parel Loco workshop and is expected to cost ₹190 crores.
