Considering the existing weak infrastructure, railways have decided to rope in Indian army who agreed to help in rebuilding the foot overbridge which is expected to complete by January 31, 2018. Along with this, two other bridges will be constructed at Currey Road and Ambivali, respectively.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the army will inspect and assess the bridge and will commence the work from November 5, 2017.

Prior to this, the military has built a replacement Second World War-style Bailey Bridge in just six days when the suspension bridge outside the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium crashed onto a road injuring 27 workers.
