First take the bill, then pay the money: Railways tells the travellers

Long journeys in trains are always tiring for passengers and as a result, they get off the trains to buy various eatables and drinks as refreshments. However, on several occasions, the shopkeepers sell products in the trains at an extra cost, which irks the travellers.

In order to avoid such incidents, Railways has appealed to its passengers to ask for a bill and then pay money for the purchased goods. The initiative is expected to benefit the passengers as the rail authority has ordered bill machines to be installed on all the shops of railway stations where express trains halt.

As a part of the awareness campaign, they have also made announcements at Churchgate, Mumbai Central, Dadar, Bandra and other railway stations in Mumbai.

Officials have also asked the people to comply with the procedure to ensure that the campaign is successful.
