Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has been active and they’ve been in the news for multiple reasons. Not all those reasons are in positive light after the recent clashes over cutting trees for Metro-3. Now, they’re back in the news (after just a day) for causing problems for BEST buses. Because of the Metro-3 line, BEST buses have to change their route. All buses going to South Mumbai have to take a detour and go via Girgaum Church, Prarthana Samaj, Maharshi Karve Road. Due to this change, residents of Girgaum, Thakurdwar and Chira Bazar have been facing a few problems and Shiv Sena has voiced its opinion about this issue.

Shiv Sena divisional head, Pandurang Sakpal, has notified MMRC. Metro 3 work is in full swing in South Mumbai. Right from Portuguese Church to Churchgate, quite a few changes have taken place. Buses going to CST and Mantralaya via Portuguese Church (65, 66, 69, 104, 126, 132) have been rerouted. A lot of inconvenience is caused due to these route changes, said Sakpal.

Traffic needs to be eased on the roads or else Shiv Sena would protest on the streets,according to Sakpal. The time frame for this problem is unknown so the residents are worried about how long they would have to endure the traffic problems. BEST worked on the orders given by the traffic police.
