The Navi Mumbai-Alibaug speed boat service, which started six months ago, has been discontinued. A speedboat service was started by the Maharashtra Maritime Board to provide sea access from Navi Mumbai to Mumbai and Alibaug.

Two days a week, Saturday and Sunday, this boat service used to run. This boat was also getting a huge response from people. However, now since this boat is closed, many citizens have to use other options for travel. Due to which they also have to spend more money.

Alibaug and Mandwa are visited by many people from all over the country and Maharashtra for tourism. This is where the school children spend their summer vacation.

But at present this boat has been closed for the past week and the tourists are also facing great inconvenience. It is being said that this boat will not be in use for at least a month. Therefore, this service, which was started to go to Alibaug, will be closed till the month of May. It is said that the boat service has been suspended due to some technical fault in this boat.

Meanwhile, the ferry service from this place to Gateway of India is also closed as passengers were finding it difficult to buy a ticket of INR 300 for one round of this. In addition, this boat is often closed as the citizens of Navi Mumbai do not avail this service due to its high price. The local citizens have demanded that the fares of this boat should be reduced.
