Domestic carrier SpiceJet has announced the introduction of 12 new flights from New Delhi and Mumbai to other destinations. The new services are all set to begin May 11 onwards, out of which, six are to and fro Mumbai whereas the rest connects New Delhi.
The airline will deploy Boeing 737 NG aircraft on these routes, it said in its statement, adding the new services from Mumbai will be operated from Terminal 2.
The statement added that frequencies on the Mumbai-Chennai and Delhi-Srinagar routes have gone up to five and three services, respectively. The move comes as an attempt to fill the capacity deficit due to the shuttering of Jet Airways mid last month.
