On Friday, Mumbai High Court ordered Vasai- Virar municipal corporation and State Transport to start ST buses in Vasai and Virar or think of some other alternatives for school children.
The Mumbai High Court have ordered ST corporation and Vasai- Virar municipal corporation to resume the ST bus services on route no. 21. The latter got ready to start the bus service but they informed the HC that ST corporation denied them the permission to park the buses at ST stand.The HC asked both the Vasai- Virar municipal corporation and ST corporation to come out with a solution by 4 May, so that it will not hamper students exams.
As ST corporation was facing losses, they decided to shut down their bus services from 31 March in Vasai and Virar. 12 school students along with their parents then filed a petition against ST corporation demanding to resume the bus service.
