Earlier this morning, the commuters had protested in response to the AC local trains not cooling sufficiently enough. In response, Western Railways (WR) had suspended the AC local trains till further notice:
However, after the air conditioners in the AC locals were fixed, the 5:49 pm AC local from Churchgate to Borivali was dispatched. All the AC locals were cancelled due to the technical issues and were sent to car shed for repairs. WR had dispatched special locals in order to compensate for the inconvenience caused to the passengers.Due to technical problem in working of AC in 3 coaches of AC local, the services of AC local has been cancelled today till further repairs. Inconvenience to commuters is highly regretted please. @drmbct

WR tweeted after fixing the technical issues and informed the people about the departure of 5:49 pm AC local from Churchgate:
Commuters to please note that the services of AC EMU on Mumbai suburban will resume from 17.49 hrs ex Churchgate (for Borivali) today ie 22nd June, 2018. #WRUpdates

Following these, WR made the decision to run the locals of 7:49 pm for Churchgate to Virar and 10:52 pm for Churchgate to Mumbai Central.
