After Central Railways intended to convert Parel Railway station as a ‘terminus’, the authorities have also planned to initiate 10 local trains to and from the crowded station. The new trains starting from the station will provide a relief for the travellers.
The decision to make Parel as a terminus, from March next year, was taken to manage the crowd which commutes via the railway station in lakhs on daily basis.

For the first time in 32 years, the trains will be initiated after Dadar railway station. Almost 1.02 lakh commuters in a day buy tickets for Prabhadevi-Parel railway station. Meanwhile, the sale of tickets at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) has reduced by 30 per cent in past five years.
In the coming time, Parel Terminus will consist of additional railway tracks and platforms which will create no ruckus for the ‘Parel-start’ to operate.
