According to the latest reports, Mumbaikars are likely to face worsened traffic congestion since repair works on three prominent flyovers on the Western Express Highway (WEH) is anticipated to commence next month.

Based on accounts, the repair works will be done on the Aarey Colony, Dattapada and National Park flyovers. It has been reported that while the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will be supervising the repair work, a build and repair firm has also been roped in for the project.

An MSRDC official has been quoted in narratives elaborating on how the design work of the National Park flyover has been completed that comprise the design of the bearings. On the other hand, the design work of the remaining flyovers is in the pipeline.

The official reportedly claimed that the work is likely to commence in April since the manufacture of the bearing for the National Park flyover has commenced. He then went on to add that the repair work on the flyovers will be done individually to ensure that commuters aren’t inconvenienced.

Apart from this, a significant part of the work will be conducted in the night alongside coordination with the Mumbai tariff police, remarked the official in accounts. The three said flyovers are supposedly 22 years old and are slated to undergo major repair work for the first time.
