Regular Customers of Ola and Uber are facing difficulties, as the strike has been called by Maharashtra Navnirman Vahtuk Sena, the transport wing of the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) against their employers.

The drivers are claiming that Ola and Uber should guarantee business worth ₹1.25 lakh as promised by aggregators in the beginning and have urged to shut the company-owned cabs down. The other demands of the drivers consisted of reinstatement of drivers, who had been wrongly blacklisted, reorganising fares as per quality of the cars and discontinue low fare bookings.

As per the officials from the RTO, there are around 50,000 app-based cabs in Mumbai.

Sanjay Naik, the leader of the taxi union of MNS said that he has insisted all the drivers to remain offline on March 19. Also, the strike could be further extended but party leader Raj Thackeray will have the last say.
