Western Railway has taken another leap towards energy conservation by installing LED lights at 726 stations of six divisions of Western Railway. Among the 726, Mumbai Central is one of the LED-studded stations.

Railway authorities have claimed that there will be a huge cut in the cost of electricity bill due to the LED lights installed at the railway stations.

Western Railway has stressed the necessity of using LED bulbs for energy conservation. Under this, LED lights have been installed at 726 electrification stations in Central Railway, due to which the Central Railway Stations will now be illuminated by LED lights.

Meanwhile, 6.83 million units would save around ₹5 crore in electricity bills. Among the six sections of Western Railway, LED lights have been installed at Mumbai Central, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Ratlam, Rajkot and Bhavnagar which will lead to conserving energy on a larger scale.
