Kristalina Georgieva, Bulgarian politician and current chief executive officer of the World Bank travelled on the second class compartment of a Western Railway local train this morning.

Georgieva joined the ranks of Mumbai's commoners when she boarded the 10.04 am slow local from Churchgate to Andheri and got off at Dadar. The interesting aspect was that Georgieva bought herself a second class ticket and attempted to strike conversations with her fellow passengers.

The motive behind the journey was to assess the success of the suburban rail network in Mumbai which has been set up with World Bank aid. Georgieva is in the city currently to visit the Mumbai rail network as well as the school system in the city.
