Author Anoothi Vishal recently unveiled her second book 'Business on Platter' at Ishaara in Lower Parel in the presence of chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Saransh Goila, Riyaaz Amlani Rahul Akerkar, Karan Tanna, and Gauri Devidayal. An insightful evening, the event saw the top F&B stalwarts sharing excerpts from the book on what makes restaurants sizzle or fizzle out. The conversation revolved around their unique and deeply insightful experiences in the food and beverage industry.

The book launch was also attended by renowned personalities in the hospitality industry such as Camellia Panjabi, Kunal Vijaykar, Pooja Dhingra, Karyna Bajaj, Prateek Sadhu, et al. While the grand dame of Indian restaurants Camellia Panjabi shared her journey as restaurant business owner that spans over 40-years, L Catterton Asia’s Sharad Sachdeva threw light on how it’s important to invest in people more than companies. The evening witnessed notable hoteliers who came together and decoded the industry through what has helped them survive over the years.
The panel touched upon different topics and challenges from the book. Riyaaz Amlani discussed how every restaurant has a different customer base that they are targeting and how everything needs to be in sync with that, he also added that the biggest part of what a restaurateur does is to ensure that the customer has a good time. Rahul Akerkar emphasized on how the product needs to be right.
Anoothi Vishal's debut book was 'Mrs. LC's Table' was published in 2016. She is also a columnist and food writer specialising in cuisine history, culinary links between communities and regions, and the business of restaurants.
