On completing seven years of the cult Bollywood film, director Anurag Kashyap took to Twitter to share how the film changed his career, stating that Gangs Of Wasseypur 'ruined' his life.

It has been seven years since Anurag Kashyap's 'Gangs Of Wasseypur' released. Although the film was loved by the audience, Anurag, in a tweet said that his life got 'ruined' due to the film. Back on June 22, 2012, the first installment of the cult film released, the story of which revolved around a gangster who clashes with a ruthless, coal-mining kingpin. 

Commenting on the same, Anurag took to Twitter to share his thoughts, the message of which read "Seven years back is exactly when my life got ruined. Since then all everyone wants me to do is the same thing over and over again. Whereas I have only been unsuccessfully trying to get away from that expectation. Anyways hope that 'Saadhe Saati' is over by the end of 2019."

Based on a real-life story of the gang war based in Jharkhand's Wasseypur in Dhanbad district, the film was appreciated for its raw nature and made close to ₹10 crore in the opening weekend. The film was released in two parts and featured Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Piyush Mishra, and Richa Chadha in pivotal roles. 

Besides Gangs Of Wasseypur, Kashyap is also known for films like Dev.D, Gulaal, Ugly, Raman Raghav, Mukkabaaz and Manmarziyaan. His upcoming film is said to star Roshan Mathew and Saiyami Kher.
