The much awaited trailer of A R Murugadoss Darbar starring Rajinikanth is finally out. The makers released the trailer in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, just as the film will release in these three languages. Darbar is a cop action drama, where Suniel Shetty plays the villain.

"Actually, I don't like doing a cop role because it has too much responsibility attached to it. I like playing easy-going roles. But AR Murugadoss came with a very different story. It is not a regular cop character. It is very different. His visualisation and imagination are very different," says Rajinikanth while talking about doing a cop film.

Sharing his thought on xwhy Rajinikanth said yes to Darbar, director A R Murugadoss said, "Rajinikanth said yes because of the character. The script is very emotional and has Thalaiva's mass elements."

"The hand of God was on me and that hand is of his (Rajinikanth). I was scared, nervous because I didn't know what to do, but he makes you so comfortable that it's unbelievable. He is one person who is so simple , and that's why I consider him God. We all keep learning from him because we all emulate him," added Suniel Shetty.

Talking about the clash with other Hindi films, Shibasish of Reliance Entertainment said, "Good films, content and Rajini sir will pull the audience. We are confident that between Tamil, Telugu and Hindi we will be able to get good number of screens."

Also present at the launch were actor Prateik Babbar, music director Anirudh, Singers - Armaan Malik, Nakash Aziz and Raftaar, Raqueeb Alam(Lyricist) and Sonthos Sivan (DOP). The film produced by Lyca Productions and presented by Reliance Entertainment is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
