In recent developments, the Enforcement Directorate investigating the case of Sushant Singh Rajput with regards to the money laundering angle has raided the residence of director Dinesh Vijan on Wednesday, October 14.

Director Dinesh Vijan had earlier directed the late actor in the movie Raabta. The 34-year-old actor's whose untimely death on June 14 sent shockwaves across the country, is still being subjected to conjecture as his fans demand justice to the sudden, unprecedented case of his death.

While the Mumbai Police only registered an Accidental Death Report, the Patna Police filed an FIR against actor Rhea Chakraborty and other persons based on the complaint of the Dil Bechara actor's father KK Singh. Sections 341 (Wrongful Restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 380 (theft), 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code have been included in the FIR.

The Bombay High Court, earlier on August 3, 2020, asked the media to exercise restraint while reporting on the ongoing probe into his death and has directed the news channels and publications not to affect the investigation in any way.

On the other hand, eight retired police officers of the Maharashtra Police had earlier filed a petition in the Bombay High Court alleging that the Mumbai Police is being defamed by deliberately showing false, misleading and baseless news against the department. Observing this, the officials have asked the court to stop the news channels from broadcasting such false and baseless news in light of the recent developments.
