Sonakshi Sinha was first introduced to us as Chulbul Pandey's beloved Rajjo in Salman Khan's film Dabangg. The film was an acclaimed blockbuster and made hundreds of crores at the box office. The film, which released in September 2010, completes 9 years today. In an exclusive interview with Mumbai Live, actress Sonakshi Sinha shares her journey from playing Rajjo Dabangg to Eka Gandhi in Mission Mangal.

Talking about the moment of being chosen for Dabangg, Sonakshi said, "It happened so quickly and I was so young at that time to understand anything. I never intended on becoming an actor. I was not asked but told to do Dabangg, and the narration happened in front of the entire family. Arbaaz and his team narrated the film and shook hands, and working on Dabangg did seem like an arranged marriage. When I went to the set, I felt amazing, and I felt like I was at home. That's when I realised that I wanted to do this always."

Sharing her thought on working with a superstar like Salman Khan for the first film, she added, "Honestly, I did not look at it that way, and I did not take any added pressure. For me, it was working with a family friend and has known me since I was 17 or 18. He had always encouraged me to do this and helped me find my calling. While growing up too, I was never his fan, and I always had a nice equation with him to have a one-on-one conversation. So I never took the added pressure, and it helps me in some way. I'm glad that it worked out, and even once it was a hit, it took me a while for the feeling to sink in. Actors today go through the grooming, but I had no idea what I was getting into."

Sonakshi Sinha and Salman Khan will soon be seen again as Chulbul Pandey and Rajjo in Dabangg 3, which is scheduled to release this year. Post this film, she will be a part of Bhuj opposite Ajay Devgn.
