The trailer of Dharma Productions' much-awaited film Kalank was released at an event held in Mumbai. The lead cast of the film - Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, and Sanjay Dutt - were present at the launch event.
Written and Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank is a story about convoluted relationships. The trailer opens with a line by Alia Bhatt, which talks about one mistake that ruined lives of many, and this is the primary subject of the film.
As per reports, Kalank was conceptualised 15 years back by Karan Johar's late father Yash Johar. Late actress Sridevi was signed as a part of the film, but after her demise, Madhuri Dixit was signed to play the role written for her.
Three songs from the film have been released and the audience has given a positive response to these musical renditions. Produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Fox Star Studios, the film is expected to release on April 17, 2019.
