Kangana Ranaut, who has been dominating the national news for several days threatening to expose the Bollywood industry and its drug nexus, has hit back at Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Jaya Bachchan over her remarks.
Ranaut has been making the headlines raising fights with Shiv Sena and Bollywood amid the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Bachchan, on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament, raised the same issue in the upper house during zero hours.
Without naming anyone, Jaya Bachchan called out those speaking against the entertainment industry and expressed her disagreement over claims against Bollywood.
Bachchan had taken a jibe at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Kishan for his speech earlier. Kishan had said that there was a problem of drug addiction in the film industry. Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut had also called Bollywood a “gutter”.
“I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha spoke against the film industry. They are bitting hands that feed them. People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their name in the industry have called it gutter. I don’t agree with this,” Jaya Bachchan said while speaking in the Rajya Sabha.
However, Kangana has hit back at Jaya Bachchan asking that if she would say the same thing if her daughter or son would be in her place.
“Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also (sic),” Kangana Ranaut tweeted.
Earlier, Kangana had claimed that 99 per cent of people in Bollywood consume drugs and called the film industry a “gutter”. Amid tussle with Shiv Sena, the actress has gone back to her hometown in Himachal.
