Powerhouse performer and National Award winning actor Manoj Bajpayee is in a happy space due to the applause he has received on the film festival circuit. His two independent films Love Sonia and Gali Guliyan (In the Shadows) have been on a foreign fest journey and has won various awards.

Manoj Bajpayee has won best actor award at Indian Film Festival Melbourne.  Gali Guliyan (In the Shadows) also won Special Jury Award at Indian Film Festival Melbourne making independent cinema shine in its glory. The actor plays the toughest role, playing a character that is isolated and trapped — physically, emotionally and psychologically. “When the performance is judged on basis of excellence it’s truly amazing and feeling of victory is much sweeter. I thank you each and every one who appreciated our efforts that we’ve put to make this film and also my part in the film. It’s a very important film and a story that needs to be told.” said Manoj.

Gali Guliyan (‘In the Shadows’) explores the roots of paranoia in loner intent on spying on his neighbors. Here the protagonist's obsession expresses itself through cheap, jerry-rigged surveillance cameras that he watches with morbid fascination. The thriller film is a psychological drama about a man who is trapped within the city walls and in his own mind and attempts to break free to find a human connection.

The actor who is currently in Melbourne will be back in India and soon will start promotions for Gali Guliyan (In the Shadows) which is set to release on September 7, 2018. After working on the silver screen for many years, Manoj Bajpayee is all set to helm a web series ‘The Family Man’ with his unmatchable acting directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK that will release on Amazon Prime.
