The Mumbai Police on Wednesday, June 2, filed an FIR against Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani and others for allegedly violating the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, reported ANI.

The rumoured couple were allegedly found roaming at Bandstand Promenade on Tuesday evening, June 1, and could not give a valid reason to the police for being out of their homes.

The case was registered under section 188 (Disobeying the order of public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). No arrest was made because it is a bailable section, the police were quoted as saying by ANI.

Taking a dig at the actors without naming them directly, Mumbai Police decided to confirm the same on Twitter on Thursday morning, June 3. The city Police, known for using pop culture references to create awareness, urged citizens to remain indoors and ‘avoid unnecessary Heropanti’.

“In the ongoing ‘War’ against the virus, going ‘Malang’ on the streets of Bandra cost dearly to two actors who have been booked under sections 188, 34 IPC by Bandra PStn . We request all Mumbaikars to avoid unnecessary ‘Heropanti’ which can compromise on safety against #COVID19,” the post read, making references to Tiger’s films War and Heropanti, and Disha’s film Malang.

For those unaware, the lockdown in Maharashtra has been extended till June 15 with curbs on movement across the state after 2 pm, except for essential services.

Reportedly, the rumoured couple was enjoying a drive around Bandra after their gym session. Tiger was sitting in the back seat while Disha was sitting in the front. The actors left after the police checked their Aadhar card and completed other formalities.

Earlier, the couple had come at the receiving end of trolls for holidaying in the Maldives amid the pandemic.

Tiger and Disha have been rumoured to be in a relationship since 2016, although they maintain that they are just good friends. They starred together in the 2018 film Baaghi 2.
