Back in 1978, BR Chopra produced 'Pati Patni aur Woh' which eventually went on to become a cult classic. During the era, it was considered a film which reflected the lives of many. Keeping the same ideology in mind, his grandson Juno Chopra along with T-Series have brought a new film with the same title. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, this new version of the film stars Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in lead roles.
The trailer of the film was recently released in Mumbai. Present along with the cast were Juno Chopra, Bhushan Kumar, Aparshakti Khurrana and others who are a part of the film. The team discussed the old classic and the relevance of the subject even today. Kartik, Bhumi and Ananya also shared their thought on the film, and how they perceived the characters during the shoot.
This is the first time any of these actors are working with each other. Juno, in the press conference, said that while Ananya agreed for the film, it was difficult to convince Bhumi Pednekar and Kartik Aaryan for the roles. Director Mudassar Aziz and Bhumi Pednekar also said that the film will make one laugh, but also talk about women in good light. In no way, will Pati Patni aur Woh, come across as a sexist film, as no connotations regarding the same are made during the filming.
Bhumi was last seen in Saand Ki Aankh and will also be seen in Bala along with Ayushmann Khurrana. This is Ananya Panday's second film post SOTY 2, and Kartik Aaryan was last seen in Luka Chuppi along with Kriti Sanon. He will be seen in TSeries' next film, Bhool bhulaiya 2.
Music of the film is given by multiple music directors and some remakes have also been used in the film. Pati Patni aur Woh will release on December 6, 2019.
