The state police have been ordered to provide Y+ security for the actor. Khan's recently released films 'Jawaan' and 'Pathan' have become super hits. When 'Pathan' was released, there was a controversy over the song 'Besharam Rang'. According to police sources, Khan will be protected by six trained commandos from the state police's VIP security wing. Four armed policemen are already stationed in his house.

The committee has also sought escort-level security for Shah Rukh in the wake of recent imminent and potential threats. There was a time when the Mumbai Police provided security to celebrities from the film industry due to underworld threats, but now such threats have subsided.
Other film actors with security include Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan (Y+), while Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher have been granted X-level security.
