Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, thousands of people, especially migrant workers were stranded in different parts of the country. While the central government’s efforts were falling short, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood stepped forward to arrange buses and flights to carry stranded students and migrant labourers back to their hometowns.
Recently, on his 47th birthday, the actor took to Twitter to announce another big initiative for migrant workers. Sood has launched of his free website and app called ‘Pravasi Rojgar’ to help out migrant workers find suitable jobs amid the pandemic. The app will provide over three lakh job opportunities for migrant workers.
According to the website, over 450 employers are already onboard and there are around 1,00,000 job requirements since the launch. As per media reports, big companies like Amazon, Sodexo, Max Healthcare and Portea have come onboard for the app. The app will also be offering specific job training programs like spoken English.
Since most of the urban cities are under a lockdown, majority of the migrant workers have been unemployed for over the past few months. This initiative by Sonu Sood will provide some relief to the workers and their families.
Along with help in transport and jobs, the actor also distributed food and ration to the migrant workers as well as other people in need. For his noble deeds throughout the pandemic, Sonu Sood has emerged out as a real life hero for the nation.
