The trailer of John Abraham's upcoming film Romeo Akbar Walter (RAW) was recently launched at an event in Mumbai. Along with the director Robbie Grewal and the producers, present at the event was the cast of the film, which also includes Sikander Kher and Mouni Roy.

The film is based on an issue that happened in 1971 and not based on anybody in real. RAW is a story of a spy which takes one on a journey on what happened to him. It has only one message which will attempt to make every Indian proud, and the makers do not wish or intend to connect it to any national issue.

Talking about his association with the film. John said, "I would like to thank you to the entire team of Viacom for backing this film. The hero of the film is the subject, which is quite different and compelling. I want the audience to watch the film and understand where we are coming from. Robbie's research is commendable, especially in such topics. He comes from an army family and understands the emotions strongly. RAW has got a great cast and it was wonderful working with Mouni and Sikander."

Adding to this, the actress of the film, Mouni Roy said, "I strongly believe that the film is very relevant to us and the subject is important. I'm fortunate and lucky to be a part of it and working with Robbie sir taught me a lot. He and John have worked very hard together to make this film what it is."

Director Robbie Grewal shared his thought on the subject and said, "It's not a story of good vs. bad, a journey of a spy and reflects the historical significance of what happened in 1971, which also resonates today's mood. However, it is unfortunate to come across these issues today."

Having said, this the makers clarified that the release of this film was not strategically planned. RAW will hit the screens on April 5, 2019.
