The announcement of Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salman's upcoming film 'The Zoya Factor' was made many months back and it was earlier said that the film would release in April 2019. However, it is was later announced that the film would release in the second half of the year. Finally, the wait is over, as the trailer of this much-anticipated movie was released at a recently held event in Mumbai.

Present at the event were the lead cast of the film, Sonam and Dulquer, along with director Abhishek Sharma. The Zoya Factor is produced by Anuja Chauhan and Pradhuman Singh and is a light adaptation of Anuja's novel based on the same name. The story revolves around Zoya Solanki and Nikhil Khoda, where one becomes a lucky charm during the 2011 Cricket World Cup but the skipper doesn't have beliefs with regards to the same.

Talking about the film, Sonam Said, "As an artist, I try to skip genres and I believe I'm lucky enough for directors to think that I can do such roles. I feel comfortable doing comedy, as it is easy, carefree and fun. Not a lot of films are made in this genre. My name 'Sonam' means luck, and my parents believe I'm lucky for them. However, n real life, I'm a bit superstitious and I believe a little bit in luck but a lot in destiny. It has to be a combination of both. Talking about the film, 'Zoya' means a gift from God, and we have used the context in this film."

Director Abhishek Sharma further added his thought by saying, "I have always said that what attracts me should hopefully attract the audience always. The subject of the film, in simple terms, is luck vs. hard work, and I like the topic because we as Indians, believe in superstition a lot. There is a great degree of interest I have in the psychology a person goes through, to understand why they have the power to make something positive or negative. 'The Zoya Factor' is an interesting look at human psychology. Both the leads here reflect two different ideologies, wrapped in a romantic comedy, in a high concept film. Both have a different way of looking at life.

The Zoya Factor also stars Angad Bedi, Sanjay Kapoor, Sikander Kher and many others in pivotal roles. Produced by Fox Star Studios, the film will release on September 20, 2019.
