National Award-winning actress Surekha Sikri has been admitted at a hospital in Mumbai after she suffered a brain stroke on September 8, 2020. Sikri's agent Vivek Sidhwani confirmed the news with PTI and said that the actress is critical but in stable condition. She is 75

Sharing the news, he said, "She suffered a stroke earlier today. She is in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Her parameters continue to be monitored closely. She is critical but stable. She was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai this afternoon."

As per reports, she also asked the fraternity for financial assistance. Sikri also suffered from a brain stroke back in 2018 and recovered from the same, post-which a nurse was appointed for her care. However, she was rushed to the hospital after she suffered a stroke on Tuesday at 11 AM. It is said that she currently does not have sufficient funds to undergo treatment. 

The Veteran actress was felicitated with three National Film Awards and has contributed to several films, plays and TV shows. Her work was appreciated in Tamas, Mammo, Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro, Zubeidaa, Balika Vadhu, and Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer film Badhaai Ho.

She was given the National Film Award for the Best Supporting Actress for the 2018 film in which she played the role of his grandmother. As per reports, she wasn't well during the ceremony and attended the award while being on a wheelchair. Sikri was last seen in Netflix's 'Ghost Stories', directed by Zoya Akhtar.
