Yo Yo Honey Singh's wife seeks Rs 10 crore compensation in domestic & physical violence case

On Tuesday, Shalini Talwar, the wife of rapper and music composer Hirdesh Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, filed a case of domestic violence against him.

The case has been filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. The complaint that runs into 118-page, Talwar has accused Honey Singh of engaging in extra-marital sex with various women. She has also provided details of the physical, verbal and emotional abuse that she had allegedly been subjected to by the rapper and his family. Yo Yo Honey Singh's wife has also alleged that during the shoot of ‘Brown Rang De’, he was sexually involved with one of his female colleagues as well.

Shalini and Yo Yo Honey Singh had got married in a Delhi gurdwara in the year 2011. However, the marriage was kept a big secret till 2014.

As per reports, Shalini has sought compensation of over INR 10 crore from Honey Singh, stating that she felt like a farm animal being subjected to cruelty.

Honey Singh is a popular rapper and known for his Punjabi songs. He shot to fame in Bollywood through his notable work in movies such as Chennai Express and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.

This is not his first tryst with controversy. During his initial years as a pop singer, composer, he was seen as promoting misogyny and drug abuse in his Punjabi rap numbers. 

Honey Singh is yet to respond to the allegations or issue a press statement in regards to the allegations filed by his wife.
