Bank of Maharashtra adds 6 more branches

On Wednesday, March 24, the Bank of Maharashtra (BoM), a public sector lender, opened six new branches, expanding its network to 1,949 branches.

BoM in its statement said that out of these six branches, which are in Kolkata Zone -- one branch is in Port Blair and other five are in West Bengal. It will enhance customer experience with the bank's innovative digital banking solution, it said.

Moreover, the bank is also working on expanding its products, services and digital banking platform with investments in technology, aimed at improving customer experiences and offering them a range of products tailored to their financial needs, it said.

Meanwhile, the Bank of Maharashtra has started the recruitment process for 150 posts. It has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Generalist Officer. According to reports, the application has to be done online. The last date to apply is April 6, 2021.

On the other hand, the Bank of Maharashtra had earlier written off more than INR 7,000 crores to loan defaulters over the past few years. In the past, the broader data between 2011 and 2020 were accessed and uncovered by news agencies. In its defence, the bank has said that the loan wasn’t waived off permanently.
