In recent developments, the Bank of Maharashtra has started the recruitment process for 150 posts. Moreover, the bank has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Generalist Officer.

According to reports, the application has to be done online. The last date to apply is April 6, 2021. Meanwhile, the total seats for the same are 150. The allocation process is as follows,

  • SC - 22
  • ST-11
  • OBC - 40
  • EWS - 15
  • General - 62

Qualifications for the role:

  • Degree in any branch with 60 per cent marks (SC/ ST/ OBC/PWD: 55 per cent marks) or CA/ICWA/CFA/FRM
  • Three years of experience
  • Age limit: 25 to 35 years on December 31, 2020 (SC/ST: 5 years’ discount, OBC: 3 years’ discount)

Meanwhile, candidates belonging to the UR/EWS/OBC category are required to pay an application fee of INR 1,180. For SC/ST candidates, the registration fee is INR 118. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the positions online at bankofmaharashtra.in on or before April 6, 2021.

On the other hand, the Bank of Maharashtra had earlier written off more than ₹7,000 crores to loan defaulters over the past few years. In the past, the broader data between 2011 and 2020 were accessed and uncovered by news agencies. In its defence, the bank has said that the loan wasn’t waived off permanently.

As per the uncovered data, a total of INR 7,400 crores had been written off between the 2011-2020 timeframe. A majority of these write-offs, amounting to around INR 7,000 crores, occurred in the last four years.
