The state contributes about 20 percent of the country's industrial output and 15 percent of the gross national income (GDP). Chief Minister Eknath Shinde asserted here on Thursday that Maharashtra is at the top in terms of foreign direct investment and there is a huge scope for investment in the state. On the occasion of Independence Day, the state government organised a luncheon for the consuls of various countries on Thursday. Chief Minister Shinde was speaking in it. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, ministers of various departments and senior officials were present.

On this occasion, Shinde said, India is becoming a world leader under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Maharashtra is leading in the country and has good quality infrastructure. Sustainable development and industrial investment are the priorities of the state government. Shinde mentioned that the government has taken revolutionary decisions in the field of agriculture and the state is also focusing on women's empowerment and environment protection.


Preference to preserve values
The state is progressing in disaster management, health facilities and conventional energy. While the state is taking the lead in industry, it is giving priority to preserving culture, family values. Shinde appealed that Maharashtra has close relations with all the countries and they should be increased.
