India has been striving to be a digital-first economy and many steps are being taken in this direction to help the country move in this direction. However, consumers still continue to face challenges in accessing net banking due to the glitches at the end of certain banks.

In the past too there have been times when HDFC bank has received flak from consumers as they were unable to use net banking and mobile banking options. Even on Tuesday, March 30 customers of the bank had complained that they were unable to use the mobile and net banking services of HDFC. Many took to Twitter to express their frustration.

In response, HDFC acknowledged the issue and said things will be restored soon. "Some customers are facing intermittent issues accessing our NetBanking/MobileBanking App. We are looking into it on priority for resolution. We apologize for the inconvenience and request you to try again after sometime. Thank you," HDFC Bank said in a tweet.

The country's largest private sector lender on Tuesday said it is taking steps to resolve glitches in its digital banking platform and restore services on priority.

However, most customers associated with the bank have been wondering why are these glitches reoccurring in the first place. It is noteworthy to add here that,  Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had barred HDFC Bank from issuing new credit cards and new digital launches due to technical glitches in December 2020.

While this continues to be in force, the outages continue to happen. Even in the month of March, there was an outage reported on March 1 when people had taken to Twitter to complain in regards to not being able to use the services digitally.

Recently, HDFC Bank had submitted a plan to stop repeated glitches in its technology platform. This includes both short and long-term solutions, which may take up to three months to implement.
