PMC Bank Crisis: Scam Claims Its Sixth Victim

68-year old Keshumal Hinduja, an account holder with PMC bank died due to a heart attack on Wednesday, October 30. The daughter of the deceased stated that her mother died due to the stress from the scam as she wasn't suffering from any ailments.

The news regarding Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative Bank (PMC) scam has been doing the rounds for a while now. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had issued a notice to the bank to shut down its operations from September 23. Post this, an atmosphere of panic had spread amongst the PMC Bank account-holders who were unable to withdraw their own money.

The crisis has already claimed five lives and recently, 68-year old Keshumal Hinduja, an account holder with PMC bank died due to a heart attack on Wednesday, October 30. The daughter of the deceased stated that her mother died due to the stress from the scam as she wasn't suffering from any ailments.

The bank crisis had earlier claimed lives of Bharti Sadarangani, Sanjay Gulati, Nivedita Bijlani, Murlidhar Dharra and Fattomal Punjabi. 

Bharti who lives in Solapur suddenly collapsed in her house earlier this month. Doctors said that the cause of death was heart failure. Family claims she was hail and hearty before the scam broke out.

Sanjay Gulati and Nivedita Bijlani, who both lived in Andheri, and Murlidhar Dharra and Fattomal Punjabi of Mulund Colony, had died in the last couple of weeks. While Nivedita Bijlani committed suicide, the other three died of a heart attack.
