A fire broke out in two electronic shops at Jai Jawan market, near Prabhat Talkies on Thane Railway Station Road on Tuesday morning, June 6.
A fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the situation within half an hour. Fortunately, there were no reports of any injury or casualty but two electronics and electrical repairs selling shops were gutted in the fire accident, said an official. Also, the shops were closed as other passersby reported the fire.

An official of the fire station informed that they received the call at around 8:52 am and the firefighters rushed to the spot to douse the flames. At least one fire engine and two water tankers reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
According to reports, the two electronic shops Gitesh Electronics and FMC Mobiles are adjacent to each other. The cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short-circuit. However, an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause.
Last month, a massive fire broke out at a scrap godown in the Avchit Pada area of Bhivandi. According to sources, in this fire, 15 scrap godowns were reportedly burnt to ashes. The warehouses contained cloth, rags, cardboard, plastic, linen, POP and other scrap materials.
