On Tuesday, nearly 28 people were hospitalized post a gas leakage that was reported at a chemical factory at the MIDC area in Ambernath, highlighted reports. The people complained of trouble breathing.

Based on civic officials, the occurrence transpired on Tuesday at nearly 11 am wherein accounts state that sulphuric gas leaked from the R K Chemical Plant in Ambernath (W). Owing to the leak, an aggregate of 34 people that also comprised employees of the company as well as other people in the vicinity were affected, stated reports.

Accounts claim that officials from the Maharashtra pollution control and the fire brigade reached the location to fix the leakage.

Chief of Thane’s Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC), Santosh Kadam elaborated based on the report by the Indian Express that the event was brought under control in an hour post them reaching the location, adding that all the patients have been admitted to the Central Hospital in Ulhas Nagar.

The account stated that a doctor from the hospital elucidated that whilst 28 individuals were admitted to the hospital, six were offered first aid, with all of them being under observation. The doctor also said that 27 patients are stable and one individual is critical and is being offered adequate treatment.
