Three dead on the sets of Kamal Hassan's 'Indian 2'

The incident occurred on February 19, 2020, as the crane used during the shoot fell, leaving nine injured. Director Shankar and actor Kamal Hassan were present during the shoot of 'Indian 2' but did not get hurt.

Veteran actor and superstar Kamal Hassan's upcoming film 'Indian 2' is one of the most anticipated releases. Hassan's fans are eagerly waiting for the sequel of the popular 1996 film. The shooting for Indian 2 was being held in Poonamale, and an unfortunate incident has been reported from the same.

It is said that the three crew members died on the sets of Indian 2 as a crane fell on the sets in EVP film city. Besides them, nice other crew members have been injured in the mishap. The deceased have been identified as Madhu (20), Krishna (34) and Chandran who worked as a production assistant, assistant director and art Assistant respectively.

Murugadoss (40), Manchang (37), Arunprasath (24), Kumar (52), Vasu (35), Thirunavukkarasu (45), Ramzan (43),  Kalaichithra and Gunabalan have been identified as the injured. A case has been registered at a nearby police station and the shooting site has been temporarily closed down by the police. Further, the crane operator has escaped and police are trying to find more information.

Hassan also visited the hospital to meet the injured. He took to Twitter to share the news and offered condolences to the deceased. The team has also mentioned that actor Kamal Hassan and director Shankar was not injured and is doing fine.

Reports also state that this might be his last film. He has expressed his view on quitting acting as he has stepped into politics and would want to now focus only on the same.
