Mira-Bhayandar records 303 new COVID-19 cases

Mira- Bhayandar on Sunday recorded 303 new cases of coronavirus. According to the Mira- Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) 4 people died due to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. 

With 303 new coronavirus cases, the tally increased to 4,134 taking the death toll to 162, on Sunday 124 people recovered taking the total number of recovered cases to 3,071.

Earlier MBMC had issued an order as per which shops selling non-essential goods to could function from 9 am in the morning to 5 pm in the evening, but now from July 1, Mira-Bhayandar has been placed under complete lockdown. This complete lockdown will continue till July 10. This has been done in order to break the chain of coronavirus and to contain the spread. In the past few days the cases of COVID-19 have been on a rise in MMR region. 

Earlier in the month, Maharashtra government had declared the extension of the lockdown in the state till 31st July due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases.

A few guidelines have been laid out by the MBMC to make sure that they can contain the virus from spreading further. These include:

  • Everyone is required to wear a mask in a public place
  • A distance of 6ft has to be maintained in public places
  • In large public gatherings, not more than 50 people will be allowed and even for this a prior permission has to be taken
  • Smoking, drinking and spitting in public places is prohibited
  • Work from home should be allowed where ever possible
  • Sanitization in work and public places is compulsory

Every possible precaution is being taken by the state in order to contain the spread if the coronavirus. Total number of the coronavirus cases in Maharashtra stands at 2,06,619
