The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said that 40 out of 73 private COVID-19 vaccination centres in the city will remain closed today, April 29, due to insufficient vaccines stock.
Another 33 private vaccination centres will also be limited to administering second doses as they have limited stock. Hence, the civic body has appealed to people that only those who want to take the second dose should come for vaccination on April 29.
Moreover, due to shortage, the municipal corporation and state government has also clarified that vaccination for people between the age of 18-44 will not begin on May 1.
According to BMC, some stock is expected to be available late at night on Wednesday, April 28. If these stocks are received, vaccination will start on Thursday, April 29, after noon at government and municipal hospital centres in Mumbai.
The municipal body also provided a list of centres that will remain closed on Thursday.
