On Friday, September 17, 434 patients tested positive for coronavirus in Mumbai. The total tests done in the city were 40443 on the said day. Additionally, the aggregate number of patients who tested positive and consequently recovered and then discharged were 387, highlighted data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

3 patients succumbed to the virus on Friday all of whom had co-morbidities and were above 60 years of age. Out of these 2 patients were male and 1 was female.

With this, the recovery rate of the island city is now at 97%, with the overall growth rate of covid-19 cases in Mumbai from September 10 to September 16 2021 at 0.06%. Apart from this, the doubling rate of the city stands at 1289 days.

The data further elucidated that according to the containment measures taken as of 16 September 2021, there are no active containment zones in the city. The number of sealed buildings, however, stands at 38. Moreover, the number of high-risk contact tracing undertaken in the last 24 hours is at 3,122.

In addition to these latest covid-19 number updates, the fifth sero-survey depicted that 86.64% of people residing in Mumbai had developed COVID-19 antibodies.
