Indian Railways and Central government are planning to spend ₹65,000 crore for creating a more efficient and connected railway network around Mumbai. Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday declared the same and informed that the central government is working on several projects for Mumbai local trains. 

Goyal along with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Navi Mumbai inaugurated the new railway corridor from Naval to Seawoods and Darway-Belapur-Kharkopar. This railway line is the fourth in Mumbai’s railway network.

This is the first phase of the 27 km-long Nerul-Belapur-Uran corridor on the Harbor route of Central Railway which has been completed in Navi Mumbai.
