Relief Money handed over to victims of Malvani accident from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund

On June 10, 2021, 12 people lost their lives when a house collapsed due to intense rains in the Malvani Extension of Malad West. Alongside, many civilians were also injured. The state as well as the central government had thus announced financial assistance to the victims. Relief money for this was handed over to the victims of the Malvani accident from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund on behalf of the Central government.

An amount of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund was given to all the families of the people killed in the accident, from the hands of North Mumbai MP Gopal Shetty. Along with this an amount of Rs 50,000 to the families of the injured people was also accorded.

After this incident in Malvani, the Bombay High Court taking sou moto cognizance ordered the BMC and the police to investigate the issue. The High Court had reprimanded the BMC and said that it should take action promptly to stop such incidents. This according to them, will help prevent and reduce the loss of lives.

On this occasion, Tehsildar Shvinod Dhotre, Talati Manisha, District President Ganesh Khankar, Mumbai Secretary Yogesh Dubey, Vice President Yunus Khan, Circle President Shri Sunil Koli, Narendra Rathod, John Dennis, Heaven Mendis, Deepak Joshi, Suresh Mapari, Uday Chowgle, Ward President Mangesh Choudhary, Munna Gupta and other workers were in attendance.
