On Tuesday, BMC razed illegal extensions of well-known Juhu eateries who had illegally encroached the space. The hotels which were demolished were Estella, Copa, and Ramee International Hotel.

Estella was demolished

Estella Hotel came to shape in December 2016 and became the instant hit amongst youngsters and public. However, the hotel again came into news but for wrong reasons. The hotel manager Hitesh Keswani and Nikhil Mirani alleged that they received extortion calls from Congress MLA Nitesh Rane. Former CM Narayan Rane himself complained about it to the BMC owing to the resident’s complaints. Estella had used up 600 sq feet of extra space.

Copa too encroached the space

Along with Estella hotel, the BMC did not spare Copa hotel. K/West ward’s assistant commissioner Prashant Gaikwad said that Copa hotel had encroached almost 850 sq feet space and so the BMC raze down unauthorized sections.

Ramee International faced the same fate

Juhu’s Ramee International Hotel had encroached 700 sq feet illegal space which was demolished by the BMC.

“If we come across any such illegal structures then we will demolish them. We will not wait for any complaints,” said Prashant Gaikwad, assistant commissioner, K/West.
