The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has announced a 24-hours water cut on Monday, January 30, owing to maintenance work undertaken by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

According to an official statement released by MIDC, officials noted that this work is being carried for the upgradation and strengthening of the Jambhul water treatment plant.

“In order to make some additions to the first phase of this work, on Monday, 30/01/2023 from 12.00 pm to Tuesday, January 31, shutdown will be conducted till 12.00 pm. As a result, water supply will be shut off for 24 hours during this period,” the order further added.

During this period, water supply will be shut in the areas under Diva Ward Committee and Mumbra Ward Committee of Thane Municipal Corporation from Mumbra Bypass to Muna Firebridge (Kismat Colony, Chand Nagar, MM Valley).

The letter also mentioned that due to the above shutdown, there is a possibility of low pressure water supply for the next 1 to 2 days until the water supply is restored. Therefore, the civic body has appealed to the citizens to store water properly.

Earlier, the MIDC had announced that due to technical works planned at the Jambhul water treatment plant, water supply to most of the cities and industrial estates in the district will be closed on Friday. However, later it was postponed.
