Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator Sheetal Gambhir has demanded that every movie theatre should play a short film of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and chant a slogan “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Ki Jay’’ in the honour of Shivaji Maharaj before every movie.

Gambhir said that before every movie, the National Anthem is played in order to inculcate a feeling of respect towards the nation where audience pays respect by standing up in its honour. She added that they want to do the same with regards to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Earlier, Victoria Terminus was renamed to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) but the word "Maharaj" was missing. After BJP demanded the same, the word Maharaj was added to CST. Recently, Mumbai's International Airport was renamed to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport which was earlier known as Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA).
