Versova-Virar Sea Link on MSRDC cards?

The construction of Versova-Bandra Sea Link will begin in October 2018 and the project is expected to be ready by 2023

Usually, travelling to Virar takes 2.5 to 3 hours from Mumbai, but one will be able to reach Virar in lesser time soon. The state government has directed Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to come up with a detailed study on the feasibility of the 62-km sea link.

Radheshyam Mopalwar, Managing Director of MSRDC said that MSRDC is also planning to have three additional connectors to connect Bandra-Versova Sea Link with Bandra Reclamation, along with Western Express Highway near Vile Parle and Andheri.

Meanwhile, MSRDC officials announced in a press conference that the construction of Bandra- Versova Sea Link will start in a month's time.

The construction work will commence in October and MSRDC has plans to finish the sea-link by 2023. On Tuesday, MSRDC signed a formal agreement with Reliance Infrastructure and Italian firm Astaldi which has bagged the contract for the ₹7,000 crore project of building the 17-km Versova-Bandra Sea Link.
