While Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is in pace to complete the Metro-2B project, from D.N.Nagar to Mankhurd, on time, the residents are opposing the same judicially. It has raised a question that the cost of this project might increase and MMRDA advocates have demanded ₹10,000 crore as security deposit.

While talking to Mumbai Live, MMRDA advocate Milind Sathe said that this demand has triggered the petitioners and residents. This demand will be heard in the court during the next hearing, he added.

The organisation of the residents living in Juhu Vile Parle Development (JVPD), Khar, and Bandra have opposed the construction of Metro-2B. They have demanded to either cancel the project or make it underground. However, after the government and MMRDA rejected the demand, it has gone to the courts. According to the court's order, Metro-2B has been closed until 2018. Until now, MMRDA had only finished the initial step of the construction.
